Problems of electricity supply in Ukraine

Worn out transformers

80% of transformers in Ukraine are older than 25 years. Increased losses, risk of accidents, oil leaks. The equipment is working at the limit of the resource.

Frequently Asked Questions

A dry transformer does not contain flammable oil, so it is fire-safe and can be installed directly in the building without an oil receiver. It requires minimal maintenance (no oil analysis), runs quieter and has a longer lifespan (30+ years). The main disadvantage is the higher cost (by 30-50%) and lower overloading capacity compared to oil.
The cost of a turnkey KTP depends on the power, type of transformer, completeness of distribution devices and installation conditions. Approximate: KTPN of oil transformer 400 kVA - from $25,000, of dry 630 kVA - from $45,000. Block KTPB for 2x1000 kVA - from $80,000. The price includes design, equipment, delivery, installation, adjustment and commissioning. Exact calculation - according to the results of the inspection of the object.
To replace the transformer without increasing the capacity, the following are required: technical conditions from OSR (distribution system operator), power supply project (EO section), delimitation of balance ownership, test protocols of new equipment. If the capacity is increased - an additional agreement on connection and payment for capacity. We undertake all permit documentation and interaction of OSR.
Typical terms: design -- 2-4 weeks, equipment manufacturing -- 4-8 weeks, obtaining technical specifications from OSR -- 2-6 weeks (in parallel), installation and commissioning -- 1-3 weeks. A total of 8 to 16 weeks depending on the complexity. Transformer replacement without power change - from 4 weeks. We provide a work schedule with clear deadlines at the stage of signing the contract.
Yes. Installation of electrical installations with a voltage of more than 1000 V (and the KTP works with a voltage of 10 kV) requires a license to perform electrical installation works. Our company has all the necessary licenses and permits, including a certificate for high-risk work and an electrical laboratory for testing. The customer does not need a license - we perform all work under our own permit documents.
