LFP vs NMC: Why the market chose iron phosphate
In 2020, NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) accounted for 60% of the BESS market. In 2025, it will be less than 15%. The reason is that LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) wins in all key parameters for stationary drives:

LFP thermal overclocking temperature: >270°C vs. 150-200°C in NMC. LFP does not release oxygen when overheated. The risk of fire is much lower.
Resource
LFP: 6000-10,000 cycles at 80% DOD. NMC: 3000-5000 cycles. For daily use, LFP will last twice as long.
